The Base Games

The first step in these game design projects is for the teacher or student to choose a base game that will be redesigned. Below are the ones I have completed so far. There's a brief description of each and a link to the complete Game Design Project Pack.

More base games are always in the works!

Seize the Power

This is a strategic game of resource management for older students. It's all about buying the best cards to build up the most power before the game ends. There are more rules and more cards in this game than the others listed on this page.

Type:  Strategy and resource management
Which grades would like designing it?  8 - 12
Which grades would like playing it?  6 - 12
What is required?  The 24 cards and screens provided in the game template and two different sets of chips

1000 Stories - A group story making game

This game is different from the other Packs. It's a group story making game (basically an RPG) that has tremendous potential for deeper exploration of lesson themes. My friend Clark Rodeffer helped a lot with the development.

You can download the latest rules from DriveThruRPG. Currently you can download it free, but if you want to pay any amount, that's an option.

Additional information is available on the 1000 Stories Page.
